Contour Face Lift – Effective or Harmful?
Contour Face Lift Procedures

About Quick, Mini, Weekend, Thread and Contour Face Lifts-Efficient and Effective or Hyped and Harmful?

Do you look older than you feel? Do you look tired all the time? Does your jaw line seem to sag? A quick face lift over your lunch hour sounds appealing, doesn’t it?

Is “appealing” right for your specific and unique situation?

Women are often allured by the quick lift, the thread lift, the contour lift, the lunch hour lift, or some other variation of a mini-face lift.  These trendy “lifts,” which take about an hour, promise only a few days of recovery and usually cost between $3,000 to $5,000—a fraction of the cost of typical face lift procedures.  But you should know that some are disappointed with the results and are learning that these procedures may not provide the same long-lasting results offered by a traditional face lift nor are the lifts suitable for everyone.

One such heavily promoted procedure, often referred to as a Thread Lift, dates back to the 1990’s, with past procedures sometimes resulting in problems, such as sutures rising to the skin’s surface and short-lived smoothness of the skin.  Plastic surgeon Raffi Der Sarkissian of Boston Facial Plastic Surgery is not convinced that the newer Contour Threads are any different, stating, "We don't know if these results are going to be long-lasting.”  Dr. Der Sarkissian is not alone; many highly qualified surgeons are simply refusing to perform these “lunch-hour lifts.” (Source:  June 28, 2005, WCVB-TV Boston)

A trendy “lift” may be just what you need for a quick “pick me up,” but are you interested in a short-term fix or a lifetime of beauty?  For longer lasting results you might want to consider tried-and-true cosmetic facial surgery over trendy lunch-time procedures.
