Los Angeles Plastic Surgeon
IWhen consumers search for Los Angeles Plastic Surgeons, whether you live locally or you are from around the world, palm tree lined boulevards, blondes in convertibles, and various reality television shows normally come to mind. Los Angeles is the second largest population center in the United States, yet it is the number one metropolitan destination for plastic surgery procedures performed in the US, and arguably the world. Why is this so?
Perhaps there are so many procedures performed here because there are so many talented Los Angeles plastic surgeons. Besides world famous plastic surgery centers in Beverly Hills and Newport Beach, there are also many fine surgeons located in outlying areas in between Beverly Hills and Newport Beach as well as to the north, south, east and west. Some of these world class doctors choose to be located in the suburbs to help keep their overhead expenses lower, which they can in turn pass on the savings to you, the consumer, while maintaining world class practices. What’s more important than their location is your plastic surgeons experience, skill, and overall track record. How many similar procedures has he or she done? How do the before and after photos look? And over time, how many complaints has the surgeon received and appears on his court record? Don’t simply assume or take a surgeon’s word that “lawsuits are normal for anyone in this field who practiced for [insert] years”. You are paying for this service. You have the right to expect the highest standards. Don’t overpay, but don’t settle for less nor be penny wise, and dollar foolish.
Keep in mind there are also some very scary statistics on less educated “cosmetic surgeons”; during an internal analysis of all the Los Angeles plastic surgeons advertising in several popular local print publications, upwards of 78% of these “cosmetic surgeons” did not meet My Cosmetic Surgery Advisor’s minimum medical education requirements (completed a four year medical school, completed a three to five year general surgery program, and completed a two to three year plastic surgery fellowship under the guidelines of the American Board of Plastic Surgery). Some did not have even have their current medical doctor licenses posted on the California Medical Board. My Cosmetic Surgery Advisor encourages every consumer to be utmost diligent and careful in evaluating their plastic surgeon, or feel free to turn to one of our Advisors with this often time consuming complex task.
While any licensed medical doctor and dentists in 15 states (legislation pending in California and New York) can legally proclaim themselves “board certified cosmetic surgeons” with little or no additional training, My Cosmetic Surgery Advisor encourages you to have as much information before making this very important choice of selecting a Los Angeles plastic surgeon. Both before and after selecting your surgeon, careful think through what you hope to accomplish as well as avoid with your desired procedure after you have given adequate considerations to all the pros and cons related to the surgeon, the surgical procedure, and the post-surgical results’ affect on your physical, mental and emotional well being.
