Why It's Important
Interestingly enough, any licensed medical doctor (MD) in the U.S. can legally claim to be a plastic/cosmetic surgeon. In fact, in fifteen states (and more states’ approvals are pending), surgical dentists with no additional training and without a MD degree can legally perform nose reshaping, face, eyelid, brow and neck lifts as well as chin and cheek augmentation surgical procedures.
My Cosmetic Surgery Advisor works for you. By using our 4-Step Process, outlined below, we ensure that the physicians we provide you information about meet the following stringent requirements. Please click here for a complete explanation:
- We determine if your potential plastic surgeon is a diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), the only board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties with plastic surgery in its name.
- We perform ongoing criminal and civil background checks on every one of our recommended plastic surgeons.
- We check for DUI convictions and check medical license status for every one of our recommended plastic surgeons.
- For every one of our recommended plastic surgeons, we research the skills and consider their reputation among colleagues through peer reviews by fellow ABPS plastic surgeons.
Surgeons meeting all requirements of the My Cosmetic Surgery Advisor 4-Step Review Process chose to submit to our Practice Malpractice Audit. Isn’t that a clarifying action in the murky world of plastic surgery marketing? |
